The Wombats – Cheetah Tongue

The Wombats have dropped another single from their forthcoming album ‘Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life’ and it’s a banger. Marrying the sound of the golden Madchester era with elements of Britpop, ‘Cheetah Tongue’ is yet another stellar effort from the Liverpudlian trio, suggesting that their fourth album may be their best yet…

Gengahr – Before Sunrise

It’s a shame we’re still stuck in the icy depths of January, otherwise Gengahr’s latest offering ‘Before Sunrise’ would have ‘sound of the summer’ written all over it. The third single from their forthcoming sophomore album ‘Where The Wildness Grow’s is an exercise in buoyant indie. With frontman Felix Bushe’s breezy falsetto and the squiggly synths lines, you’d be forgiven for confusing the London quartet for Bombay Bicycle Club.

The Go! Team – Semicircle Song

Sugary sweet vocals, a triumphant brass section, glockenspiel and of course, hand-claps: The ‘Semicircle Song’ is so quintessentially The Go! Team it hurts. They’ve even chucked in a sprinkling of steel drums and a section that features people introducing themselves and declaring their star sign, in case you were in any doubt they’d forgotten their magic formula.
